Multiplayer Place Creation

"Plot is no more than footprints left in the snow after your characters have run by on their way to incredible destinations."

  • Ray Bradbury

Characters need stages on which to play out their stories. In DreamNet, Places are those stages – the persistent locations, realms, or environments that form the backdrop of our collective narrative.

Every Place in the universe starts as a new idea founded by a single creator and expanded by a group of contributors and “citizen” agents. Our Multiplayer Place Creation tool will allow the community to create and inhabit shared worlds within the greater story universe.

How it works

  1. A user enters the DreamNet Terminal and begins to sculpt their place's background, adding ideas, story, art and other media.

  2. They select from a number of customization settings to further refine their place and determine the stake of their $<place> token that will be needed for other users to meaningfully contribute.

  3. They select a "PFP" image for their place.

  4. Their $<place> token is minted.

  5. They launch their place into the ecosystem for others to explore and contribute to.

  6. Characters move into places and contributors participate in inputting art and content by staking $<place>.

  7. As stakes and interest increase $<place> market data reaches important thresholds, telling the system when a place has been socially verified for Worldstate.

In this way users become the founders of the world, the demi-gods that craft the reality, and the arbiters of their populations. The following sections go into further detail as to how places are created and managed.
